TMI with Your Mother Still Exists into Your 20´s

By the time we get to our twenties, most of us are pretty much best friends with our Moms. We have passed the age of thinking we know everything, past the times of being too scared to tell her all of our secrets, and more importantly back to the times when we realize that our Mother really does know best. During our twenties we start experiencing things we never had before. Some of us graduate college, rent our first place, start a new job and may enter a serious romantic relationship. We pretty much are finally getting a real taste of adulthood and all it entails. Experiencing this new stage causes us to become more aligned with our parents and helps us better understand them. Now that we have reached adulthood, we can talk like adults, right? No more of that ¨Honey, this adult talk so please go to the other room.¨ The crazy thing is, most of the time we are the ones that start the real adult discussions, ask the mature questions, and talk about things that matter the most with our moms. Who better to give you advice than the woman who raised you, am I right?

Well here is the thing we tend to forget, the obvious, we are #1 in our mother´s eyes and anything that is hurting us is killing them. Things can get a little tricky when it comes to Relationships. Whether that be with coworkers, friends or your romantic partner; anything you say can and will be held against you or that individual, or both. A huge concern some of us face is that if you talk to your friends about a reoccurring issue that they might get tired of hearing constant complaints and write you off as ¨that friend¨ (we all know that friend, and do not want to be them). Plus, who in the world do you trust more than your own mother? I mean she is supposed to love you unconditionally, and when your best friend gets on your last nerve you always have your mom to tell about it.

This is where the tables begin to turn. Seems like once you start venting it is hard to shut that door. Some mothers begin to develop resentment against the people in your life, while others try to help as best they can, but in the end you do whatever you want anyways. Every parent is different. There is no cookie cutter example, but based on my personal experiences there is such a thing as TMI with your mom. When you go through a rough patch in your life, which we all do, you turn to the person who loves you more than anything else in this world, yet sometimes you end up hurting them the worst. I can´t imagine hMomand Iow hard it is to be a parent, but sometimes we have to stop making their job that much harder. Does that mean not to call on your mom when you need her most? Of course not. But it is important to be aware of the amount of negative things you share with her. Many may disagree, but I feel like a lot of us are not conscious of the weight we put on their shoulders. We might have moved out of the house and taken responsibility for more, however, that does not mean our parent´s jobs are over. No, in fact it just gets harder. By the time we reach our 20´s we are on our own and still making mistakes, because as they say, ¨that is what the 20´s are for.¨ Instead of picking you up and telling you the right direction to go, our mothers become onlookers and give as much advice as they can while we embark on this crazy journey that we call life. Regardless, of how many times we fall flat on our face, how many mistakes we make, or how many heart breaks we go through she will always be there to pick up the pieces.

Making wrong decisions did not end in our teens, but the way we handle them should. Chat, cry, gossip, laugh and much more with your mother! She should be your best friend, but always keep in mind that she is not your typical girlfriend. She will cry when you cry, she will be happier for you than anyone else in your times of joy, and she will also feel your pain more than you can imagine when you hurt. They say children are the greatest blessing, well I do not have kids, so I am going to stick with ¨Mother´s are our greatest blessings.¨

I think in a lot of ways unconditional love is a myth. My mom’s the only reason I know it’s a real thing.Conor Oberst

At 21 I Lived in a Beach Paradise, Jobless for 1 Year: What I learned

Many of us, well most of us, dream about living on the beach one day. We all have different hopes and dreams, but the fantasy that consists of walking out your door and feeling sand beneath your toes seems to be a popular one. All of my life, yes the full 21 years, I imagined myself waking up one day to peer out my window and see a vast body of beautiful blue water and at the exact age of 21, this became my reality. I graduated college in 3 short years and a few months after throwing my cap in the air I was living in a beach condo in beautiful Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Jobless, no responsibilities and with the love of my life by my side. I was living the dream.

How did I get here, you might ask? And how in the world do I not need a job to be living in such a gorgeous, and to be frank, expensive destination? To make a long story a short one, I had been in a long distance relationship for 4 years and my significant other lived in Mexico City while I lived in Austin/Houston, Texas. Due to many reasons we decided to move in together and concluded that Cabo was the best place to start our new chapter.

The View from the Living Room of our Condo

The View from the Living Room of our Condo

The vista was unbeatable. From our condo you had an unobstructed view of Cabo’s famous Arc. In the Winter/Spring months, from December to April, our balcony was a front row seat for watching the whales swim by with their baby calves. What a sight that was to see. One of the best parts about living so close to the shore was being able to walk out our front door and take a short 5 minute stroll down to the beach.

5 minute walk to the beach..

5 minute walk to the beach

You are probably asking yourself Okay I get it, this chick lived in paradise, so what is she getting at? Well it did not always feel like paradise; there were many challenges that came along with the adventure. After reading a jillion blogs and watching a ton of shows I wanted to be one of those people that leaves the life they knew in the U.S., move to a foreign country, start a grand adventure, become a more interesting person, and just love every single moment of my journey. That is what everyone feels when they make such a brave move, right? Well you only ever here the plus-sides, but believe it or not there are downsides. There are tons of retired expats living in Cabo San Lucas that do not know too much of the language so that wasn’t a huge issue for most people, but for me it was. Seemed silly and slightly disrespectful moving to another country and speaking to people in English and expecting their response to be in my native tongue. Being far from my family, friends and the ‘world’ I was used to was extremely difficult. But the hardest part was living my new life with my new 21 year-old-self who worked hard in college, at one point working 2 jobs plus a full load of classes and managing to graduate Magna Cum Laude, because I always put my academic success first. Then from one extreme to the next. Living a life of leisure in paradise filling my time with cleaning and cooking, which I do particularly enjoy cooking, just wasn’t fulfilling me. I tried looking for jobs that I felt like I ‘deserved’ after all my efforts in University, but it was one disappointment after another. Several months went by and I began losing motivation. I didn’t necessarily need a job for financial reasons, and the reality is even if I had gotten a job I would have earned crumbs compared to what I would be paid in the United States working the same job. Through all of this paradise started looking a bit different. The lust I once had for the place began to fade, but the beauty of paradise didn’t change, instead it was my inner beauty that was changing.

The sunsets took my breath away..

The sunsets took my breath away

Cabo’s allure is undeniably celestial, but it wasn’t enough. I needed independence, my own life. The one where I worked towards something. Ever since I can remember I knew I was destined to do something spectacular with my life and sitting around all day just wasn’t cutting it.

I love the quote by Diane von Furstenburg, “I didn’t really know what I wanted to do, but I knew the woman I wanted to become.”

I can still recall the first time I read that particular quote from the legendary DVF. In that moment I felt better, I felt more secure with not knowing where life might take me as long as I do not forget the woman I want to become. Through my experiences so far I have tried not to lose sight of who I want to be, who I can be, and more importantly who I am already. Even though you think you know the “perfect” scenario that would make your life a lot happier doesn’t mean that it actually will. Paradise bestowed many unforgettable memories that I am very grateful for. The truth is, just because you read an article from a world traveler, CEO, top model, whatever it might be, does not mean that a certain lifestyle that you do not have would make you happier if you did have it. Live the life you want and learn a lot along the way. We all deserve to find what will fulfill our lives and what makes us happy. I am still searching for what I should be doing, but at 22 I think I will be okay.

Hidden Beach Paradise You Had No Idea Existed

We all dream of visiting Fiji, Bora Bora and the Maldives for the crystal clear blue waters and white soft sand. Between the amount of money it takes and distance we all wonder if we will ever have the chance to visit the paradise that has a special place in our dreams. The wonderful news is that you do not have to travel as far as you think to discover these crystal clear waters. Beach Paradise

Many agree that Mexico has some amazingly beautiful beaches, but not many would guess that this is where the picture on your right was taken. Almost everyone knows that Cancun and the entire Riviera Maya has famous spots that can be considered some of the best beaches in the world. The truth is we know they exist. Cabo San Lucas, Cancun, Cozumel and Acapulco are places we have all heard of a time or two and most likely have already visited.

What beach could possibly more magnificent than these famous shores? The hidden treasure I am speaking of can be found amidst the Mexican desert of Baja California and turquoise waters of the Sea of Cortez on the Island of Espíritu Santo. The island is in front of the city of La Paz located in the Baja California Peninsula. La Paz on it’s own is not an impressive vacation spot and is more of an industrial hub for locals. Now having lived in Cabo San Lucas, however, I know where the locals go and the best kept secrets of the area.

Swimming with Sea LionsLa Paz is only a two hour drive from Cabo San Lucas and with the newly constructed highway makes it is easier than ever to get to. Once you make it to the city you just take a boat tour to the island and have the time of your life! One of the activities you are able to do on the island is swim with sea lions! Imagine, we are not talking in an aquarium this is the open crystal clear waters of the Sea of Cortez. During certain times of the year you can also swim with Whale Sharks that swim off the shores of La Paz. Sometimes on the tours you are lucky enough to see giant stingrays jumping out of the water showing off their smile and even dolphins that come up to say hello. There is such a richness of sea life surrounding the area; no wonder the Sea of Cortez is known as the aquarium of the world.

The island itself is filled with many surprises around every bay. When we went to what I call, ‘Paradise Beach,’ I was not expecting those gorgeous crystal clear waters. In fact, when you start heading towards the beach you are not able to see how beautiful the water truly is until you move in closer. The water is so gorgeous that you swear it is personally inviting you for a swim. We jumped off the boat before reaching the shore just to take in the clear blue sea. DSCN1719

The pictures do not do the place justice. I am always amazed at the beauty found hidden around every corner in Mexico and I know people would be shocked to see all the country has to offer. The vista alone will blow you away. ‘Where the Grand Canyon meets the sea’ is how I would choose to describe the overall environment. Amazing to think that I have never seen this on any lists of ‘Places You Have to Add to Your Bucket List’ or ‘Top 10 Beautiful Beaches.’ To be honest, I am glad that it is not ‘well known’ and even though I would like to believe thousands of people will read this, I know my humble blog will not turn this hidden gem into a major tourist attraction.

Because ‘Detox’ sounds better than ‘Botox’…

After my last post about Coconut Oil & Oil Pulling I received a great deal of feedback from everyone so I decided to share another natural, healthy item to incorporate into your beauty routine. Admit it, sometimes it feels that you learn more via Pinterest than you ever did in high school. This time I found a pin about Green Tea Detox Bath via another fellow blogger Sunshine Southerner. This is an easy, simple way to detox your body without constricting yourself to a crazy diet or buying expensive products that promise unrealistic results.

2. To remove the effects of poison from

No one wants harmful toxins roaming around in their body, right?

green tea

Green Tea always tops the list as a healthy herb to incorporate into your daily diet due to all the benefits it possesses. According to those smarties at Harvard Medical School Green Tea has a great source of antioxidants and goes on to talk about tons of benefits your body receives from drinking green tea, so why not bathe in it?

Soaking up Green Tea!

  • I use about 5-10 tea bags
  • Use warm water (as hot as you can take)
  • Once bath is filled almost half-way proceed to put the tea bags in
  • I have also added:
  • Olive Oil (3 tablespoons) Helps hydrate your skin
  • Baking Soda (5 shakes) baking soda can help neutralize skin acidity and promote elimination of toxins. Soaking in baking soda can help refresh, renew and soften your dry skin.
  • Epsom Salt ( 1 cup) epsom salt relaxes sore muscles and softens skin; Taking an Epsom salt bath helps restore magnesium and sulfate in your system
  • Apple Cider Vinegar ( 1 cup) apple cider vinegar will draw toxins out through the skin and help jumpstart the cleansing process. This can also help relieve joint pain as well as skin conditions like eczema and acne.

Detox Bath Tips:

  • Need to have a glass of water to drink while bathing: When taking a detox bath you sweat & must to stay hydrated.
  • I take a detox bath once a week, but hope to make it twice a week
  • Drink a green tea everyday and save the tea bag (I put it in tupperware and stick it in the fridge) That way you are consuming the green tea, which has countless benefits, and reusing the tea in your bath. If you choose to use new tea bags then only use about 3-6 in your bath.
  • You can get dizzy while taking the bath so again, make sure you hydrate before/after and during
  • My bath lasts about 30 min

Once you are bathing in the detox mixture you can feel the pores of your skin open up and sweat out all the toxins cooped up in your body. After the bath your skin feels silky smooth and will already look healthier. Though I have only taken the green tea detox bath a few times I am happy with the results and hope to take it more often. Who knew green tea was more than just a healthy drink choice?

Why is Everyone Loco for Coco?

Many people have been wondering why everyone has been going loco for Coco? For those of you that follow me on Twitter you know that I love Coco Chanel, but this time I am talking about a different Coco, unrefined Coconut Oil to be exact!  Lately I have seen several posts on Facebook talking about coconut oil. From the benefits of the oil itself and this strange term ‘oil pulling.’ Here is my take on this popular fad and why I have jumped on the bandwagon!

Image

Oil Pulling

Once I read the words ‘oil pulling’ I was instantly intrigued. Honestly, I had no idea what ‘oil pulling’ could possibly mean. If you have been wondering and contemplating what is oil pulling and why do I know nothing about it, do not fret because I am here to let you in on this current trend and other uses of coconut oil. Oil Pulling is where you take coconut oil, anywhere from a teaspoon to a tablespoon, and swish it around in your mouth for 20 minutes. Sounds simple enough, right? If you can gargle mouthwash around then how hard could it be? Coconut oil is indeed oil, but it is a thicker texture and is not pure liquid. Most people start out at 10 minutes and make their way up to 20 minutes. The moment I put the thick coconut oil in my mouth I thought I wouldn’t make it more than 1 minute. The first time doing it, however, I made it to 20 minutes because once you get past the first couple of minutes it turns into liquid and becomes easier to swish around.

Oil Pulling Tips

Oil pulling should be done in the morning before brushing your teeth and after you can continue with your normal routine and brush your teeth. Do NOT swallow the coconut oil! The reason is it has tons of unwanted bacteria that needs to leave your body, not re-enter. Be sure to continue to swish the oil around in your mouth the entire time, believe it or not it can be easy to forget

Oil Pulling Benefits

These are the most common benefits that I have read while researching this topic

  • Coconut oil is an Antibacterial, Anti-fungal, Anti-inflammatory agent
  • Whiter Teeth
  • Fights Against Cavities and Gingivitis
  • Better Night Sleep
  • Detoxifies Mouth and Body
  • Reduces TMJ pain
  • Helps with Allergies
  • Clearer Skin: Specifically Acne & Eczema
  • Migrane Relief

My Results: After 1 Week

I am now a week into Oil Pulling and I am hooked! The most frequent benefit I have seen in various articles is that it whitens your teeth. In the morning right after I gargle the oil I do notice that my teeth look whiter, but not I am not yet seeing a permanent difference yet. I will have to get back to you about the fighting cavities benefit once I visit my dentist.

After one week I have already noticed that I have better breath. This entire week I have not suffered from the dreadful ‘morning breath.’ On top of that, I have experienced the detoxifying of my body benefit. I live in a very warm place and workout at least 5 days a week and due to these factors I am constantly sweating. To be honest, I used to take 2 showers a day because I hated the body odor I would suffer from because of sweating. My ‘smell’ has completely gone!

I actually suffer from TMJ but other than occasionally jaw pains I have not had severe symptoms such as my jaw locking shut. Having said that I have not had any pains from my jaw since I started oil pulling.

Now that I reflect on this past week I have been having a better night sleep and more energy. Normally I take a nice mid-day siesta and for the last 7 days I have not felt the need to.

When it comes to Clearer Skin I have seen a change in my complexion, but not only due to oil pulling. I also have another way I use coconut oil that I share in the next section.

Beauty Uses for Coconut Oil

There have been a handful of ways I have been using coconut oil, but there are articles that list over 100 ways to use this natural substance. Starting with my absolute favorite, Facial Wash. This past week I tucked away all the products I use in my normal face washing regimen. I went all in! I use about half a tablespoon of coconut oil and two pinches of baking soda. Mix it together in your hand and the baking soda acts as an exfoliant while the coconut oil moisturizes your skin. My face has never felt softer! This facial wash is specifically for those who suffer from acne and I am happy to report has helped eliminate most of my usual breakouts. Again, I have only been using it a week! (Morning & Night)

Coconut oil is nourishing in many ways and I have been using it in addition with my facial wash as a Moisturizer. Also, when I tried applying a small amount all over my body as lotion. Seems to moisturize nicely, but I do not like it as a body lotion because it does feel too oily for me. I have dabbed some on my lips but surprisingly haven’t noticed them being softer.

Works as a great makeup remover! Not harsh on your skin and again makes it feel so soft! I did apply coconut oil to the ends of my hair and threw it up in a bun and did stuff around the house leaving the oil in for about a hour. I did notice my ends were shinier after I took a shower and washed it out. For better results I put oil throughout my hair then wore a shower cap and went to sleep then washed it out in the morning. One drawback I have experienced is that even once I wash my hair it never felt like I was able to wash it all out. That might be the point though? I am not too sure.

Would love to hear your experience using coconut oil. What other ways do you use it? Feel free to leave your thoughts, questions and experiences in the comment section below.

Bag B!tches

Everyone loves a good handbag. By everyone, I mean everyone reading this blog.  Lately, many women have been claiming they are a “Bad B!tch.” In fact, so many women love to refer to themselves in this ‘derogatory’ manner that it made me realize that bad bitches have a lot to offer in terms of fashion. I was tempted to just simply give my opinion of the top self-proclaimed bad b’s in the industry right now, but since this a fashion blog I thought I might spice it up a bit. Besides, if I did a straightforward list of the baddest bitches we all know Beyoncé would take home the crown… that would just be too obvious.

Beginning the fun at number 3 we have..

3. Jennifer Lopez

JLo wearing “Maureen” hobo handbag from her new collection for Kohl’s

JLo has been rocking bags since she was Jenni from the Block and continues to step up her game. She is one woman that knows how to wear different looks and is always sporting a new bag with every outfit. Another big reason why she made the list is because of her brand Jennifer Lopez which offers affordable purses at Kohl’s for all of her fans. Unfortunately, we cannot all have her bodacious bum but at least we can get one of her hobo chic bags.

2. Jessica Alba

Image

Recently Jessica Alba rocked this Jimmy Choo bag

In terms of the media Jessica Alba has been flying under the radar lately. She has not been caught in any scandals or surrounded by gossip and rumors like most celebrities. Interestingly enough, Alba made this list because in the pictures we do see of her she is always wearing a new designer bag. In fact, this is the biggest reason that she is being talked about right now, because of her great taste in bags. Keep rocking more designer bags so we can will have something to talk about, Alba!

Who is the Baddest Bag B!tch of all?

1. Victoria Beckham

Victoria Beckham with her diamond studded Birkin worth around $130K

This woman loves her accessories, but I would say her most loved accessory of all has to be her bags. She loves them so much that she has her own line of bags. They are gorgeous, but come at a hefty price tag. What else would you expect of her self-entitled brand? Speaking of expensive bags, let’s discuss Beckham’s designer bag collection. Beckham’s Birkin Bag collection is not Britain’s best kept secret by any means. Over the years there have been several articles dedicated to solely discussing Beckham’s bags. In fact, her Birkin Bag cumulation is worth north of 2 million dollars. Need I say more? The bag seen in the picture is what really began to get people talking. This particular diamond studded Birkin is worth around $130K. Maybe instead of being named the ‘Baddest Bag B!tch” she should be crowned with the “Baddest Birkin Bag B!tch.”

Fashion Show Amidst the Cabo Morning Glow

This past Friday a fashion show featuring clothes from Super Gangas took over the beautiful Puerta Vieja restaurant and mesmerized the audience. The event was coordinated by Lucia Gutierrez and the proceeds from the benefit went towards helping children in need from Casa Hogar and local churches in Cabo San Lucas. Many locals came to support the cause and enjoyed a morning filled with an assortment of colorful, trendy clothes and accessories streaming past them as they sipped their jugo and dined on the breakfast feast prepared by Puerta Vieja1375872_10152347696998298_707187901_n

The restaurant truly has one of the best views in Cabo San Lucas, however, the models held their own and definitely caused a distraction from the breathtaking vista. Guests cheered as look after look came down the runway all styled by Rafael Garcia. Over 30 ready-to-wear looks strutted down the runway, and paired with jewelry and shoes provided by Adel.

Myself and Polo modeled
Super Gangas clothing and Adel Jewelry

The show started with all the models coming out in black and white looks, very classic. Whether you are in your early 20’s, late 50’s or in the 7-10 range there was something there for you. Sleeves or no sleeves, short or long, animal print or solid, every occasion was covered. The mixing of different patterns and styles made the show feel fresh and exciting. All the models had fun and cascaded down the runway with confidence in all the various looks they flaunted. In addition to the female models, there was also testosterone in the room full of ladies. The two male models showcased the newest additions to Super Gangas. The crowd had a great energy throughout the entire fashion show and continued to cheer for all the different looks that flew past them.

Rafael Garcia: Make Up artistRafael Garcia is a well-established makeup artist with 17 years of experience who just opened his clothing store Super Gangas in downtown Cabo San Lucas 6 months ago.

There were others who joined in and showed their support for the good cause. Pilar Andrade, who is an event coordinator for Cabo Entertainment and also is the director of the luxury mobile spa service Body Treat Spa, assisted Rafael with the makeup for the models. Hairstylist Lula Garcia, who also works at Body Treat Spa, was a magician at styling all the model’s hair and gave all nine models up-do’s in 2 hours. Before and after the show there was a table setup with an array of jewelry from Isabel Rocha.

Isabel RochaThe event was a success. Rafael said, “This was a great first show for Super Gangas. I look forward to producing another fashion show in the near future. This is what I love!” Spring/Summer fashion show? We all hope so!

Cabo Comedy Fest: Comics of Chelsea Lately

Cabo San Lucas is small city filled with a lot of life and when the Cabo Comedy Festival came to town from October 2nd-6th, the town was roaring with laughter. This is the first installation of Cabo Comedy Fest and offered comedy shows with various comedians, panels and of course, pool parties. The comedy show’s were at some of the hottest venues in downtown Cabo, Pink KittyHard Rock CafeDesperados and the infamous Cabo Wabo. The most anticipated show was the ‘The Comics of Chelsea Lately,’ at the Hard Rock Cafe.

Among the popular Chelsea Lately comics that had the crowd standing for their standup was Gina BrillonBen Gleib, Annie Lederman and Heather McDonald. The comedian I looked most forward to seeing was the ever so funny, Ms. McDonald. I could not contain my Imageexcitement when I saw Heather McDonald walk through the door. Yes, I am sure I came across as a little girl seeing One Direction, because she walked right in front of me (and the only 3 other people in line) and I shouted “Oh my gosh! There’s Heather McDonald,” which was followed by a giddy wave. Once we were able to go upstairs to our reserved table, I actually chatted with Heather. She was very nice and spoke with my friend and I for a little while before the show. McDonald told us that one of her newest characters, “Regina Chelsea Lately’s Make-up Artist,” is based on Chelsea Handler’s real make-up artist. In fact, she even said that the real make-up artist watches as they film the Regina sketch and Heather still is not sure if she really knows the character is based on her. Loved her candidness. I even expressed that my favorite impression she performs is ‘Celine Dion,’ and guess who then performed a Celine Dion sketch 10 minutes later.

If any of you are big fans of Chelsea Lately and recognize Ben Gleib, then you know that Chelsea always gives him a hard time, poor guy. Seeing his standup was a great look for him. He had the crowd rolling across the beer stained floors of the Hard Rock with laughter. Gleib knows how to work an audience and also understands the environment he is in. Cabo jokes kept coming out of the comedian and the people were loving it. After the show I met Gleib and we chatted for a while. He was very personable and appreciative and shared that he was loving his time in Cabo. I told Gleib that I had just saw him on Chelsea Lately that night before coming to the show and heard him and Chelsea talk about the Cabo Comedy Fest. He was amazed that it happened to air that same night of his performance (I explained that Mexico aires the show’s later). Out of all the comics I met Ben Gleib was the friendliest, and might I even say the funniest.

When Annie Lederman took the stage the energy in the room shifted. The comedian seemed to be very irritated by a drunk audience member that was apparently disturbing her. Lederman kept engaging the bothersome man and at one point told him, “I hope you die.”

ImageDon’t get me wrong, I can imagine how frustrating that must be, but at the same time you also need to take into account the other 99 people in the audience who came to see your performance. To be quite honest, it was awkward and slightly uncomfortable. Our table would not have even noticed the guy if she did not put such an emphasis on him. Lederman continued her sketch and involved the audience the entire time, pulling them into her jokes. I met her once the show had finished and she and Gleib were nice enough to take a photo with me. Lederman was a pleasant person off stage.

Cabo Comedy Fest was a success! Excited to see the lineup for next year’s festival! Getting a little too excited, too soon.

Living la vida in Los Cabos

Los Cabos can seem as if it is worlds away since it is situated at the very tip of Baja California Sur. After having traveled The Arcaround the Yucatán Pennisula I could not have imagined a more beautiful spot in Mexico. From the moment the plane’s wheels hit the ground I definitely knew I was not anywhere that I had been before. The entire area is settled in a desert and the dry terrain contrasting with the sapphire blue waters of the ocean and the backdrop of the mountains is a magnificent site to see. When you experience this place  you begin to realize that very few destinations can compete with the beauty that Cabo San Lucas possesses.

Cabo is a popular vacation spot for many Americans. The city itself is very friendly to foreigners, which is always an important factor when visiting another country. The area is easy to navigate, though visitors use taxis, but the accessibility makes it that much more comfortable. Plus, locals are always willing to help with any needs or answer questions without expecting something in return.

Los CabosLos Cabos offers the best of both worlds. Numerous tourists are drawn to this area because it has the services and modernity that is necessary, but yet still has the true Mexican flavor that many people seek. You can bet that the services you are used to at home are available in Cabo and you will always be greeted with a smile. The cultural elements harmonize perfectly with the current world outside of this peaceful beach town. In fact, the marine life there might have more hustle and bustle going on than the residents themselvesThe serenity associated with Los Cabos does seem appropriate considering that you feel as though you are at the edge of the Earth.

Pelican Beach AdventureThere are very few places I have traveled that I can truly picture myself living. Lovely Los Cabos, however, tops the list. There is just something so unique that Cabo has to offer that other places do not. Having been around the United States, Europe, Canada and The Caribbean I have seen many extraordinarily beautiful places. Though all the others fell short when it came to that ‘it’ factor. There was always something missing. Call it a feeling or an emotion, but this place is magical. Even if you are not looking to pickup everything and move, you should at least add Los Cabos to your bucket list.
